The smoke that is coming from the mines is stinking so bad in such a way that you can feel that it is causing damage to your system.

This is happening in our community Vosman in Mpumalanga Province under Emalahleni Local Municipality in the Highveld Region.

This has been going on for years but now that the mines are too many it has just became too much for us as a community and people just passing through the free way N12 Road.

This has affected so many people especially pregnant women who can’t stand this smell. Some opted to leave Vosman to a better place where they won’t inhale this smell until they get birth and waited for the child to grow before coming back again.

The mines that were busy extracting coal near our community none of them has done rehabilitation all just went away .

The Municipality and the Department of Minerals Resource and Energy must make sure that they fix this problem because it cost people’s lives.

The community have to take a drastic step of negotiating with the two parties the Municipality and DMRE sothat the rehabilitation be done and to end poverty for it will mean job creation.
