The health issues around the area in Emalahleni is a very serious one and it seems like is not taken into consideration or maybe making improvements in the health facilities.
One of my neighbors who is having a one year three months’ child lose her job that she has to be providing for her family by having it just because she was always absent at work to take care of her child. In April she took the whole month but didn’t know why his son is becoming so weak then she took him to the doctor where confirmed is bronchitis asthma and she took him once or twice a week during these times of cold this winter. What makes her no happy is that the cost is too high for them and the price of petrol also because they spend much and when it happens at night the clinic is closed they have to go straight to hospital.
They also have to buy some of the medication prescribed for them it is very hard. She also said when she gets back to work they only said she must stay at home and take care of her child is sad but also stated that the life of her child matters and needs money to make sure they survive the situation of his illnesses but she lost her job she has to find another one once the child is in a better condition.
The question stand does the health department really cares about the issues of bronchitis and willing to upgrade their health facilities according to the problems communities face in their daily lives.
