Let us keep Tut clean

#MANDELADAY

Various departments and schools met to clean our campus and the surrounding areas, celebrating the late South African President Nelson Rholihlahla Mandela. We were celebrating 67 minutes of Nelson Mandela. This happened in the old game, an industrial zone in Emalahleni, which consists of schools and colleges

The cleaning campaign started in the morning at around 8 o’clock with an address from the campus director, outlining the route we were to take in the cleaning campaign.

Surrounding schools, shops, and the University itself are places that are always polluted with waste from the factories and nearby shops.

This initiative was long proposed by the Department of Student Development Support, to at least clean the campus and surroundings once a week. It is always surrounded by plastics making the representation of the University itself not presentable to both students and visitors to the University

It was declared that 3 pairs (green, red, and blue) of dust bins of waste collection separation will be placed at both entrances of the university where the students will practice waste separation within the university.

I was later invited to teach about waste separation as a course in a small gathering that was organized in the library later during the day of the celebration
