Does the government, the mine, or both have a responsibility of constructing sewage pumps in the Voelpan dam?

The residents of Nyakallong have the opportunity to sue both the government and the mine.
Sewage is flooding the streets of Nyakallong, making some roads inaccessible to cars.
The sewage pump problems in the area are due to negligence from the government and mining
companies. The residents have the right to take legal action against either or both parties for
endangering their lives.
Due to the flooding in Voelpan Dam, the municipality is struggling to maintain the two sewage
pumps that are responsible for pumping sewage from Nyakallong. Since both the government
and the mine are at fault, the people of Nyakallong can pursue legal action against both.
The residents have valid grounds to sue the government because these issues could have been
avoided had there been a thorough investigation of the area where the pumping stations were to
be built. Many households with toilets report that their toilets are not functioning properly due to
the broken sewage pumps, and they often experience flooding. Additionally, the toilets are not
being properly maintained.
The mine is also at fault for discharging toxic water into the dam, which is contributing to the
flooding in Voelpan and causing sewage to overflow into the streets of Riverside.
We urge both the mine and the government to collaborate on constructing new pumping
stations to improve the living conditions in the Nyakallong community.
