Mogalakwena municipality mayor takes action on water projects and service delivery

Mogalakwena Municipality’s technical department has today visited Mountain View, Mokopane, to inspect ongoing water projects and assess service delivery challenges faced by the community. The visit comes as the municipality launches 11 new water scheme projects aimed at providing safe and drinkable water to residents. The visit focused on addressing concerns related to roads, electricity, water, and sanitation. The “Re Nwa Meetse Wednesday” program will involve weekly site inspections and stakeholder meetings to ensure challenges are identified and addressed promptly.
The launch of the 11 water scheme projects marks a significant step towards improving water access and quality for the community. The municipality is committed to ensuring that all residents have access to safe and reliable water services. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, “We are happy to have water, but we want taps in our homes. We are looking forward to seeing progress in this area.” The municipality’s spokesperson, Malesela Selokela, emphasized that this visit marks the beginning of a regular engagement with the community. The mayor plans to visit communities on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to monitor progress and address ongoing concerns.
