Community Organisations demand Women be taken as primary stakeholders.

18 Community based organization that are Affected by operations of Twickenham mine met and agreed to engage the mine on the representation of local structures that are women, people with disabilities and social and environmental structures . The structures represent 10 communities from 12 traditional houses . The meeting take place at Moroke village,at Dilokong productive workshop of disabled. The local organizations and above mentioned structures has never been represented at Community Engagement Forum(CEF) since the mine started past 15 years. According to the MPRDA women, people with disabilities and community based structures are the primary stakeholders of the mine.
When the organizations met the mine on 05 April 2022, the mine told them that they are aware of the matter and the mine is already prepared to include the organisation as part of mine community engagement forum. The mine made it clear that they will also engage the department of social development (government ) even though the representative of organisation made it clear that the department is failing them because they knew about this and never took any initiative to engage about it. And they told the mine that the department will not take decisions on who must
represent them but the organisations had already elected their representatives.
