Villagers frustrated by village roads
Kamogelo Mogashoa
For the past few days it was raining and village roads are changing from bad to worse. Gravel roads and tar roads are the same. Women, men, children and elderly people walk from village to village everyday or from village to the shops at Tshehlwaneng using this roads. Women push wheelbarrows on this roads when collecting water also. Dongas are getting bigger and it doesn’t look as if our municipality can fix the roads soon.
After the rain the tar road from Schonoord and Tshehlwaneng to GaMogashoa looked like a river next to GaTshati shop and Mogashoa school. Our children walk to school and this has created fear to their parents especially women because it is difficult to walk on this roads. Some of the women accompany their kids to school but for how long? The problem was reported to the previous ward councillor and nothing happened. A new ward councillor has been elected but nothing is happening. Service delivery is a challenge in the villages because it not only roads but water is a problem too. During elections the villagers vote but when coming to service delivery they are last to get services.
It is also difficult for car drivers cause one does not know if rain water has filled a donga or not. This matter is very serious and something must be done
