On 7 th March 2024 there was a meeting between the board of trustees and the community where there were squabbles as it transpired that on 2 August 2023, the trust received lease payment from Bokoni platinum mine and did not inform the community and instead shared the money amongst themselves. It appears the Chairperson and the Secretary shared the money with colleagues receiving R20 000, one received R6000 and promised further R14 000. The community approached the mine and was informed the money was paid to the Department of Minerals and Resources and they should approach them.
