While going to check the sewer purification plant at vancam pump station I was suprised to see hundred plus coal transporting trucks cuewing to carry coal in a mine with no name and suspected to be an illegal mine.

 

This happened in the Highveld Region of Mpumalanga under Emalahleni Local Municipality Province under Emalahleni Local Municipality not far from the vancam pump station and the location including Ezinambeni.

 

We could hear the blasting but because of the many mines and Zamazamas we could not think of a big mine like that. The blasting is happening five to eight times a day because the illegal mines too do the blasting.

 

This is affecting the Emalahleni community especially those staying at kwaGuqa and Ezinambeni including Vosman. The school kids of the various schools per location especially the primary school in Vosman as it is on the fence line of the mines.

 

The people of kwaGuqa and Vosman have been staying there before the mines comes, meaning steps have to be taken but unfortunately the mines to destroy and devide the community.

 

The community have to come together as one and speak in one voice to conquer this mining problem.

 

If the community is United, it will be easy to consult with the Department of Minerals Resource and Energy and the law enforcement sothat this come to an end.
